Is your national disability representative hiring the lowest bidder to try your Missouri case?

Is your national disability representative hiring the lowest bidder to try your Missouri case?

Need another reason to hire a Springfield Missouri disability lawyer and meet your Missouri Social Security disability lawyer before hiring him or her?

I was recently approached by one of the national disability advertisers offering me the opportunity to try a claimant’s case next month for an absurdly low flat rate attorney fee. Frankly this rate was too low to pay for the time of the hearing, let alone prepare the case for hearing. (You can read about how I prepare my clients for their cases here. Additionally I personally write briefs for the judge to read about my clients case.)

While debating the company’s business practices with the salesman who contacted me with the offer, the salesman informed me that my services were not needed, someone took the case. Now this fee was so low that it is unlikely that any Missouri disability lawyer who would prepare the case properly by meeting with the client, personally reviewing the entire medical file records took it.

Who took the case? Who knows. It could be the best disability lawyer in Missouri (highly unlikely) or it could be someone who has never had a Social Security disability appeal hearing before. The problem is this particular claimant doesn’t know who the company they hired for what could be the most important day of the life was able to find to try the case for them was whoever was willing to accept the ridiculous fee or maybe had that day free to pick up an appearance fee. The claimant placed their trust and faith in this company and this is how it was repaid.

The lowest bidder is not what you want in this situation. The attorney will get his or her few hundred dollars from the national company win or lose. Do you think this person is motivated by sharing the risk of a no win-no fee contingency case?

As I have said before if you don’t meet the attorney who will try your appeal case for you at the initial meeting, LEAVE.
