When Do I Need A Missouri Workers Compensation Attorney?
Hello. This is Springfield Missouri workers compensation attorney, Jason Krebs. In today’s video we thought we would answer the question “Do I need an attorney for my Missouri work comp case?” Some cases, quite frankly, you do not need a Missouri Work comp lawyer.
If you’ve had a relatively minor injury, sprain, strain, maybe a couple of stitches in your hand, or something like that, quite frankly probably don’t need a lawyer. You can probably get a decent settlement on your own and it’s not worth hiring an attorney.
Now that brings me to my next point, when there are certain situations and circumstances in which you should certainly think about hiring an attorney. If you’ve had a situation where you’ve been unable to work for an extended period of time, if you’ve had a surgery or you’re going to need future surgery, future medical care, if you were injured in a car accident while on company time, the injury due to a third party maybe, maybe it’s not a car accident maybe it’s something else where you’ve got a claim against someone other than your employer, that’s certainly something that you need to look at hiring an attorney for.
If you’ve had prior injuries to the same body part or somewhere near, your arm and there’s other issues or if you’re looking at a permanent and total disability situation, or if you’re looking at applying for social security soon, whether it’s related to the work comp injury or not, these are all situations in which you probably need to talk to and think about hiring an attorney.
We do offer a free book to Missouri residents. You can get that at our website, krebslawoffice.com or call us at 1 (800) 345-0535, or (417) 883-5886. It’s important to consult with an attorney fairy early in the process, especially if you’ve been severely injured. Don’t wait until you get very far down the road because sometimes attorneys won’t get involved in cases that are too far along. Sometimes we don’t get involved if they’ve are very far along and you have been unrepresented.
Thanks for watching, best of luck and give us a call if we can help you. Thanks.
