Here is an interesting article on J Turn infrastructure. I have seen many of these on the trip between Springfield Missouri and Buffalo Missouri. Hopefully this design will help limit Missouri accidents on Highway 65.
As with any new design only time will tell. My office is located near one of the diverging diamond interchanges (at US 60 James River Freeway and National) referenced in the article. I have seen a significant traffic improvement and it does at least seem that there are fewer traffic accidents at that location.
