Now, the most important thing that you should do if you’ve been involved in a hit and run bicycle accident is make a report while you’re at the scene. Don’t wait until you get home. Make your report then, because then things can happen that can help your case in the event that you were injured if the police are involved in earlier.
I had a client several years ago that was involved in a hit and run accident. He had to write down with a rock, a piece of gravel, part of the vehicle number and called the sheriff’s office. The sheriff could go out and start the criminal process against the driver. Ultimately, it was very helpful in this individual’s personal injury lawsuit.
