Hello. This is Springfield, Missouri disability lawyer Jason Krebs and this is part of our series mistakes that can ruin your Missouri disability claim #1. In this video we’re dealing with medical evidence. If you’ve watched any of my other videos or look at our website at https://krebslawoffice.com, you’ll see one of the main things that we talk about is the need for a lot of medical evidence to show your disability.
Now a lot of people get confused and they think, “Well, I’ve been diagnosed with this particular disease or that particular disease and that’s all I need to do.” Now there are very few types of medical problems that if you have that condition by itself, you automatically win. Those are things that are what they call the compassionate allowance list and they’re very severe problems, Lou Gehrig’s disease, various hyper-aggressive forms of cancer, those kinds of things. Not all cancers but very aggressive type cancers.
What’s important then is that means that you document with your doctors what it is about your diagnosed conditions that are going to affect your ability to show to work every day, eight hours a day, five days a week, week in, week out through the month. So that’s what’s important, issues with things like you sitting, lifting, walking, if you have issues with your arms, you’re reaching, bending, stooping, that kind of thing. Then the older you are, that’s going to determine if you can’t do your past work, that’s going to be much more relevant than somebody is 35. They’re going to have to be able to show that there’s no work they can do.
If you’re over 50, the law’s a little different especially if you’ve had a history of physical work, you want to contact us, get a copy of our book before you apply, especially if you’ve over 50. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to give us a call, 417-883-5886 or 1-800-345-0535. Best of luck and watch our other videos. Thanks.
