All social security cases are handled by what we call contingency fee agreement, that means if there’s no successful outcome of your case then there’s then there is no attorney fee’s, doesn’t necessarily mean that you don’t have to pay the cost to get your medical records or medical source savings from your physicians, that kind of thing.
There is no upfront cost to hiring a lawyer, there’s no cost for their time unless they are successful. Any attorney that tries to charge you out of pocket cost for their time upfront, you shouldn’t hire that lawyer. All fees are approved by Social Security Administration, it’s based upon twenty five percent of your back award not future or going forward or lifetime benefits there is none of that you have to pay a fee on, but its based upon your back award and that’s capped even further by law at six thousand dollars. So it’s twenty five percent or six thousand dollars or whichever is less, now anybody that tries to charge you that fee upfront you should run away and don’t sign a contract with them.
